Multidimensional Vitruvian Human

A Live Performance and panel discussion
For several years, a collaboration between Santa Monica-based EZTV Online Museum and University of Nebraska Medical Center’s iEXCELL Holographic Theater (the first such facility in academia) has pondered ways to build better collaborative projects between medicine and art. Conceptual and performance artist Alina Kalinouskaya, born in Belarus, has blended her diverse ethnic background (Belarusian, Polish, Roma, Ukrainian, Tarter, Ottoman), to develop post-modern dance vocabularies that are informed by both her Eastern European/Middle eastern heritage as well as contemporary movement theories.
On Oct 11, 2024, she, along with video artist/producer Michael J. Masucci and Dr. Gregory Carpenter, presented “Vitruvian Human,” a life-size full motion holographic projection at iEXCELL, as the finale of a 2 day conference on advance imagery. This experiment is the beginning of. Series of such experiments, that hopefully will be presented in Santa Monica as part of the 2025 DNA Festival.
Kalinouskaya will perform a live dance piece as the start of this evening, after which she will be joined by a panel discussion to discuss current trends and applications of holographic projection technologies in live performance as well as contemporary art, with Michael Hollins, Executive Director of UNMC’s iEXCELL, Dr. Gregory carpenter and moderated by Michael J. Masucci
